Wooden Legs

Just bike commuting to work was difficult this morning. And I rode Bluebell, who normally is very zippy. I'm supposed to go on a ride after lab today but I'm sort of dreading it b/c of my legs. I want to make it nice and easy and not worry about pace so I can go for a ride and do the workout and not skip it. Ugh. Guess that week off erased more fitness than I thought it would. Hope it comes back fast. Live and learn. Why is biking so hard for me?

Hey Rachel, you broke a golden rule in TriBlogging. You don't refer to your bike without a link to pics of the bike. :D (Sorry, I am a sad fan of bike porn.)

That Danica Patrick sure is hmmm... interesting. There may be more to Indy 500 than cars driving very fast in boring old ovals afterall!

Do you keep your gears low? It took years for me to be talked into this -- I was mashing high gears to get the bike to go faster, and I was stubborn about it -- but it really is helping me to ride more easily, and the theory is that the faster spinning will eventually become easier in higher gears as well. Just a thought. :-)

Rachel,

Keep at it. If you are riding to work everyday, that will be quite a workout (on top of running and swimming and weights and taking care of bunnys :) ).

So Bluebell is your road bike and Ghostrider is your hybrid? Help! I can't remember!

Kewl Nitrox--I'll have to post some reminder pics of the bikes.

Ellie--I do ride in low gears. Maybe too low and that's why I haven't been getting stronger?

Jessi--Bluebell is my road bike and Ghostrider is my commuter. Yup.
