Curse of the Flats, & I've Been Tagged!

First off, I think the tire gods are angry with me. The last 3 times I've ridden, I've gotten a flat, albeit a slow leak. AND, 1 of those times was on the trainer, and 1 of those times wasn't even on my bike (my dad's)! Luckily, they've been slow leaks so they haven't interrupted my rides. I've checked the tire very diligently and found nothing (of course). Let's hope 3 times a charm!

Qcmier tagged me so here goes:

1. Find the nearest book.
2. Name the book & the author.
3. Turn to page 123.
4. Go to the fifth sentence on the page. Copy out the next three sentences and post to your blog.
5. Tag three more folks.

Immunobiology
6th Edition
Janeway

p123
"The crystallographic structure of the MHC class II molecule shows that it is folded very much like the MHC class I molecule. The major differences lie at the ends of the peptide-binding cleft, which are more open in MHC class II molecules than in MHC class I molecules. The main consequence of this is that the ends of a peptide bound to an MHC class I molecule are substantially buried within the molecule, whereas the ends of peptides bound to MHC class II molecules are not."

I know. Fascinating.

Now I have to tag 3 people:
1. Tri-Bunny
2. TriSaratops
3. JT's Tri Spot

Thanks for the excerpt. Unfortunately I skipped out on most of my biochemistry lectures.

By the way, have you checked your rim?

Yeesh... there is a saying in French "Jamais deux sans trois" (never two without three). Hopefully this will be it for a while. Flatting out really sucks but I guess it's good practice for fixing them on the fly!

stay away from my bikes woman!

i had a persistent slow leak on my 404s that was driving me crazy... turns out, the Vredstein valve was two pieces, the end screwed into the stem... in case that helps!

Since once was your Dad's bike- you're just having bad luck probably.

What was p.123 about again? Maybe you can offer a flat tire to the "tire" gods to appease them for the year.

Holy smokes! Here's to a little light reading! :)

You've had your share of flats... should be good until next year!
